Moussaka with broccoli

Typically, moussaka=meat+potatoes+eggs. In this healthier version, only replace potatoes with boiled broccoli.

Koh

I have just realized that this is the second time in a row that I'm posting a dessert which is best for a warm summer afternoon. I guess that means it's time for a tropical vacation!
Koh is made often at my home, because it is quick and easy, it requires only milk and eggs, and is very refreshing. There is also something very soothing and comforting about this dessert. It contains cream of wheat, which for me always brings back childhood memories.

Vitamix

This food blender is amazing! It is a bit expensive, but I think worth it!
My friend made this smoothie for us and the color is gorgeous! I think it cannot get better than this! :)

Шненокле...Schnee Nockerl...Floating Islands

I love this desert during warm summer days! (is it just me, or this first sentence sounds just like 'I like a warm pig belly for my aching feet'). Oh... where was I ... :) ... yes, it is quick and easy to make and it can be paired with your fruit of choice (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, candied orange, etc). I also like to decorate it with almond slivers.

Cranberry walnut bread

I have made this bread several times now. It is very healthy (no butter, no eggs) and it tastes incredibly good! My friend gave me the recipe and the ideas for few changes from the original recipe that she found here. The measures in the recipe are for two breads. I either give one bread to my friends, or I cut slices and freeze them. When I'm in need of a quick snack, I just toast it and it is perfectly paired with my favorite blood orange jam or almond butter.
Suggestions: replace water with orange juice, let dry cranberries soak in the orange juice for a while, add a pinch of nutmeg.

Bon appetit,
Miki

Bohemian cake

This is by far my favorite Serbian torte, almost no flour, lots of layers, lots of ground nuts, custard-like filling that is absolutely dreamy, and of course, inevitable chocolate filling.

The original recipe can be found here:
http://www1.serbiancafe.com/lat/kuvar/recipe/7/3548/boemska-torta#.UQanX4XhGqQ

Many experienced Serbian ladies will tell you that this torte is a piece of cake to make. Not for me. So I expanded this recipe into this long version, mainly just added lots of details that were important for me while making this torte as a complete beginner.
